We report the first human case of percutaneous edge-to-edge mitral valve repair using MitraClip System (Abbott Vascular, Abbott Park, IL, USA) in a patient previously undergone left atrial appendage closure with PLAATO(TM) System (ev3. Inc., Plymouth, Minnesota). The procedure was successfully performed using the standard MitraClip technique, in the catheterization laboratory, with transesophageal echocardiographic and fluoroscopic guidance. We showed that a double percutaneous procedure for stroke prevention and mitral regurgitation treatment might be a valid approach in selected patients ineligible for chronic anticoagulation therapy and at high risk for conventional cardiac surgery

Abstract
We report the first human case of percutaneous edge-to-edge mitral valve repair using MitraClip System (Abbott Vascular, Abbott Park, IL, USA) in a patient previously undergone left atrial appendage closure with PLAATO(TM) System (ev3. Inc., Plymouth, Minnesota). The procedure was successfully performed using the standard MitraClip technique, in the catheterization laboratory, with transesophageal echocardiographic and fluoroscopic guidance. We showed that a double percutaneous procedure for stroke prevention and mitral regurgitation treatment might be a valid approach in selected patients ineligible for chronic anticoagulation therapy and at high risk for conventional cardiac surgeryI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
