Many agents that target angiogenesis (e. g., sunitinib, sorafenib, bevacizumab and pazopanib) and mTOR-targeted therapy (e. g., temsirolimus and everolimus) have been approved as first-line agents. The choice of the most suitable treatment for advanced renal cell carcinoma depends on the definition of risk. In this article, we reviewed the scientific literature identifying predictive factors on the activity/efficacy of a specific therapy.
