Abstract
Antonio Maria Baccelli (1793-1876) is often remembered as a "renowned surgeon" in the biographies of the surely more famous Guido, his eldest son. In fact, very little is known and has been so far written about him. Thanks to a substantial dossier of the Sacred Congregation of Studies of the Papal States, preserved in the State Archives of Rome and dedicated to him, in this paper I try to outline a first biographical and professional profile of the complex and often troubled tale of this character.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
