Giant isolated subclavian aneurysm is a rare disease. We report a case of a 66-year-old lady, with a proximal intrathoracic true aneurysm of the right subclavian artery. Due to the absence of a proximal neck, and for the relevant tortuosity of the vessels, we decided to approach the aneurysm through a median sternotomy. The aneurysm was excluded and opened. Then, we performed a direct subclavian–carotid transposition. The postoperative course was uneventful.

Abstract
Giant isolated subclavian aneurysm is a rare disease. We report a case of a 66-year-old lady, with a proximal intrathoracic true aneurysm of the right subclavian artery. Due to the absence of a proximal neck, and for the relevant tortuosity of the vessels, we decided to approach the aneurysm through a median sternotomy. The aneurysm was excluded and opened. Then, we performed a direct subclavian–carotid transposition. The postoperative course was uneventful.File in questo prodotto:
