The work and training world are currently subjected to strong and fast technological innovations. Every year, Italian hospitals welcome hundreds of new residents who have to face the difficult transition from a predominantly academic role to a real working context. This path is often characterized by critical issues related to lack of knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, hospital infrastructures and interprofessional dynamics. In response to these challenges, the article proposes an innovative model based on the use of role-play and immersive technologies to facilitate the job placement process by reporting the case-history of a training experience conducted with 149 workers at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico (since 2017).

Abstract
The work and training world are currently subjected to strong and fast technological innovations. Every year, Italian hospitals welcome hundreds of new residents who have to face the difficult transition from a predominantly academic role to a real working context. This path is often characterized by critical issues related to lack of knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, hospital infrastructures and interprofessional dynamics. In response to these challenges, the article proposes an innovative model based on the use of role-play and immersive technologies to facilitate the job placement process by reporting the case-history of a training experience conducted with 149 workers at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico (since 2017).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
